New ways to fight high corruption levels proposed
Before the administration that created this organism finishes its term, the National Anti-Corruption Council presided by Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez published a document titled "Honduras: National Anti-Corruption Strategy, a participative process".

La
Ceiba
Long known for it's tropical exuberance and extensive waterways, La Ceiba is third largest city in Honduras. Home to a mixture of the ladino and afro-caribbean ethnicities, the city's friendly inhabitants offer a unique blend of culture to this coastal, Caribbean city. Tourist attractions are many and include: white sand beaches; river rafting and kayaking; a butterfly farm boasting more than 9,000 specimens; tours through the Cuero y Salado wildlife refugee, home to jaguars, monkey's and the manatee, as well as 198 species of birds; hiking and trekking the Pico Bonito National Park, La Ceiba's principal landmark, a lowland cloud forest of 8,000 feet supporting diverse tropical plant life, charming waterfalls, and spectacular vistas. The city is also home to Standard Fruit Company, major producers of bananas, pineapples for export. More

Book Review: Barro draws picture of 1915 Banana Company
So far my favorite Honduran novel is Barro (Clay) by Paca Navas de
Miralda. It was originally written in 1943, but not until 1992 was it published in Honduras. In 1998 Editorial Guaymuras released a third edition.

Letter from Honduras: A sick child, a father's anguish
It is the rainy season and after every storm the water pours across the land carrying a long summer's worth of sewage into all the streams, creeks and rivers and so, of course, into the water supply. So it is the diarrhea and vomiting season. I have a regular queue of mothers with small children at my door looking for medicine. I preach my little sermon on "Prevention" and dole out the remedies which 90 times out of a 100 quickly work and bring relief. So it angered me that they didn't do much good when my wee son coming up for three fell victim.
