Government intervention legal
The process of intervention on the part of the Government is completely protected by the legal framework of our country. |
The current position concerning the storage of fuels in the country has been totally imposed by the Government. Apparently negotiations between DIPPSA and the Government have not resulted in any prosperous solution. Since the public auction, DIPPSA are demanding that the Government pay 6 cents to store each gallon of fuel, whereas the Government want to pay 1 cent per gallon.
This imposition made by the Government is protected by an operation contract that was signed in 1991, which clearly states that the Government can have direct access to the rent of these fuel terminals if there is a situation of national emergency. The Government now wants to store 800,000 barrels, equating to a profit of millions of lempiras. We consider that the process of intervention on the part of the Government is completely protected by the legal framework of our country. There will not be any indirect effect in terms of the image that Honduras presents to the outside world. Furthermore, the judicial stability will firmly follow the same path is has taken over the last 20 years.

Dear Editor,
I enjoyed The Leeward Course, HTW 13 January, RN Thursday evening Toast: Searching for the truth. Jesus said I am the way, the life and the truth. Pilate answered, what is truth? For him power and control were the same as truth. A couple of nights ago I heard George W. Bush's address to the nation, where 9-11 was mentioned four times and we were informed that the insurgents in Iraq and Iran are trying to kill Americans. For him as well as Pilate, truth is power and control. (Kill Them) The Republicans don't understand why the Democrats cannot see truth. The president's speech also touched on energy with his vision of 20/10. Twenty % reduction of petroleum imports during the next ten years. Which imports is the real reason for Iraq and the justification about the insurgents is a burlesque of truth.
Jorge's brother Ricardo said that putting two 150 hp outboards on the sloop of Chelsy would make the sloop go faster. Although Jorge in his quest for eternity (truth) is in no hurry and would rather enjoy the trip under a quiet sail, where he can reflect upon basic questions such as who we are and why we are here.
Fyodor Dostoyevsky concludes his excellent novel of "Crime and Punishment "with, "God sees the truth and waits". For me he suggests not to be in a hurry for truth. Power and control, nor science will bring about that knowing. Hopefully theology can shed some light on where and how to look. There is no doubt in my mind that the practice of prayer is helpful. Although my experience is similar to Dostoyevsky's, the answer is not yes, nor no, but to wait.
After 500 years of science no one can explain just how our sun works. Only that it appears every morning and goes away every night. If science really understood, there would be no need for Iraq. Saddam Hussein died with the Koran in his hands. For him and his quest for Allah, the wait was over.
