Honduras This Week is an English-language weekly newspaper published 51 Saturdays a year. In addition to a concise review of the top news events making headlines in Honduras each week, HTW also features in-depth reports on subjects of interest to the international community. With a special emphasis on tourism, culture and the environment, HTW is also an excellent source of information on economic, development, human rights, diplomatic and judicial affairs.
First published in September 1988, HTW has since earned a loyal following with subscribers in 76 countries. It is also a favorite of the local tourist and foreign resident communities, and is a common resource at Honduran bilingual schools, language schools and universities.
In addition to numerous local honors, HTW has won three international awards, including the 1992 Inter-American Press Association's Globe and Mail Award for In-Depth Reporting and the 1993 and 1994 Amy Writing Award for Outstanding Merit.
HTW is an excellent arena for international advertising. It is a direct link to readers on each of the five continents, including potential tourists, investors, the diplomatic corps and international businesses. Back in Honduras, HTW is a bridge to the maquila industry, the university, high government officials, the Central Bank, tourism operators, non-profit development organizations, political parties and the country's intellectual and art circles.
