Honduras This Week is a privately owned, independent Honduran newspaper without government connections (national or foreign) and soley responsible to its readers.

Honduras This Week is an English language weekly newspaper published 51 Saturdays a year. In addition to a concise review of the top news events making headlines in Honduras each week, HTW also features in-depth reports on subjects of interest to the international community. With a special emphasis on tourism, culture and the environment, HTW is also an excellent source of information on economic, development, human rights, diplomatic and judicial affairs.

First published in September 1988, HTW has since earned a loyal following with subscribers in 76 countries. It is also a favorite of the local tourist and foreign resident communities, and is a common resource at Honduran bilingual schools, language schools and universities.

HTW has won three international awards, including the 1992 Inter-American Press Association's Globe and Mail Award for In-Depth Reporting and the 1993 and 1994 Amy Writing Award for Outstanding Merit.

The online version has won five Internet awards to date. It obtained GNN's Web Crawler Select award in September, 1996

Terry Clymire: a contributor since 1993, Terry is from the U.S. and covers environmental, diving, tourism and adventure news, primarily in the Bay Islands.

Wendy Griffin: a contributor for many years, Wendy is a U.S. anthropologist who has worked extensively with Honduras' ethnic groups and is an authority in bilingual education.

Rosibel de Gutierrez: on staff since the very beginning, Rosibel handles circulation and classifieds. She is also Advertising Manager for Honduras This Week Online.

Mario Gutierrez Minera: a Honduran entrepreneur and founder, chief editor and publisher of Honduras This Week.

Blanca Moreno: a Honduran journalist who has been covering front-page political news since 1994.

Howard Rosenzweig: a U.S. contributor, Howard covers tourism news, writes the Copan Update column.

Eric Schwimmer: a longtime U.S. resident in Honduras, Eric has been on staff since the first edition of Honduras This Week was published in 1988. He is a regular contributor of photography and has been managing editor since 1990. He is also editor of Honduras This Week Online.

Melanie Wetzel: an ex-scuba diving instructor from Kansas, Melanie studies law at the National Autonomous University of Honduras and writes the Legal Forum column.

Telisha Williams: a Spanish teacher from Arkansas who likes to travel and work in community projects, Telisha currently resides in Tegucigalpa and is the editor of the Maya Calendar.

Stanley Marrder, webmaster for Honduras This Week Online is also the listowner for the Honduran Internet DList, Catrachos. His experience with online newspapers includes The Houston Chronicle Interactive. He is also the Honduweb webmaster and the owner of Marrder Omnimedia as well as a major stockholder in Galaxy Multimedia.

Linda Foss Marrder, web editor for Honduras This Week Online, is a technical writer by trade. She is also in charge of site promotion.
