Half Moon Bay Cabins on the beautiful West End is a
medium priced favorite. Cabins come in two units:
doubles run $50 a night (peak season prices are $65 to $90). Hot water, flush toilets,
rustic and well made cabins. The beach is coral, but sandy beach is available within short
walking distance. It's a good place if you want a quiet get-a-way, relax, do some diving
or just do your thing. Snorkel gear is available for guests without charge. Reservations

Seaside Cottages at Rudy's Coffee Shop located a short distance from Fosters. The
units are new and in a dome design. Very clean and pleasant. Their address is Rudy

fax 45-1205. Cost is about $30 to $40 a night for a double. The little coffee cabana
serves great banana pancakes for breakfast and has hot sandwiches. The cabana has a beach
view.
Next to the Half Moon Bay Cabins is the Sea Grape Plantation. They have a dive
center run by Jeff and Ray offering diving courses and PADI certification. You can

Oceanside Inn, Sandy Bay, is a newer hotel
tastefully decorated in native woods, with a spectacular view. Facilities include a

Osgood Key Hotel, located on a key (Osgood) right across from the airport. They
provide a boat that takes you from the main island to the key. The hotel is made up of
small bungalows. Also included is a tour of Roatan as well as other amenities. Price for a
double room is $15, on peak dates (late January to "La Semana de Santa" - Easter
week) the price goes up to $40.
Lost Paradise of the West End, bar, garden, private beach, snorkeling, restaurant
and transportation available. Cabins are beautiful and comfortable, designed by the
architect son of the owner, $60 night Sometimes dinner is served in the gazebo, look for

Sunset Inn, West End, comfortable rooms, bar and restaurant, telephone 45-1005. If
you dive the least
expensive room is $10 and $15. They also have doubles with private baths and
airconditioning for about $55 a night. Oscar, at Ocean Dive, is the diving guide and he
makes people feel comfortable and is quite knowledgeable about the diving sites.
Keiffito's Plantation, West End towards West Bay
about 10 minutes up the beach. They have 6 really nice cabins on a hill overlooking the
water. Only $19 a night. Their restaurant is great, owner brings fruit from his plantation
and coffee in the morning for all his guests. The place is very, very quiet.
Foster's also has one room wooden cottages with thatched roofs. A reader wrote that
they are available for lodging for $20 night, telephone 45 1018.
An economy move would be Hotel Sheila in Coxen Hole. Double runs about $12.

Anthony's Key Resort, Sandy Bay, one of the largest and most popular tourist resorts.
Restaurant, bar, hot water, garden, private beach, boating, paddle boats, horseback
riding. They have a museum and a performance of dolphins, try not to miss it. Telephone

Bay Island Beach Resort, formerly Roatan Beach
Resort, currently serves 18, located on the north shore, oceanfront villas and beach
bungalows, air conditioned, hot and cold water, queen sized beds, restaurant, bar, natural
sandy beach. Full diving operations, three dives a day, night and shore diving. They have

Reef House Resort, restaurant, bar, hot water, garden, boat rental. Located at
Oakridge Caye, also known as the Venice of the Bay Islands. The Reef House was the first
dedicated dive resort in the Bay Islands. After twenty years it still has its relaxed

CoCo View Resort, top rated, located 1/4 mile East of Fantasy Island. Twenty-five

Just finished this April 95 is Roatan's newest resort - The Inn of Last Resort. Located
on the West End between Sea Grape and Anthony's, they have 30 rooms, all air conditioned,
hot water showers, modern bathrooms. Each room has a queen size bed and two twin beds in a
corner seating arrangement to provide extra sleeping space. Ceiling fans add to the air
conditioning are above each bed. They have a restaurant, dive shop, bar-lounge, gift shop

Guanaja
Posada Del Sol, is a 24 room Spanish villa with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool,

Nautilus Dive Resort, double rooms in a
beautiful turn-of-the-century mansion on a plantation estate, on Guanaja's pristine
leeward shore. All bedrooms have private baths & several have air-conditioning.
Upstairs corner rooms have wonderful views of the estate & the ocean, plus neighbor
cays. Nautilus Resort covers 25 acres of hillside, with Guanaja's mountain range jutting

The Island House, accommodations limited to either a
family or two couples, operated by Bo Bush, he is a dive Master and you can get your scuba
certification through him. Cost about $60 per day depending on your plans. They can be

Fruit Harbour Pension, six room hotel is located on
the south side of the island. It is accessible only by boat. It is in a renovated old
island house, has a large garden and fruit trees and a beach front dock. Boat services
available, horseback riding, sailboat charters and a houseboat. Hotel services include
meals because no restaurants are located nearby.

Laguna Beach Dive Resort, located on the southeast coast of Utila is their
newest addition. Catering to the diver, they have an on-site dive shop, dive boats, day
fishing trips as well as snorkel instruction. The restaurant serves three meals a day.
They also have a circular bar. Cabanas each have a king sized bed and your own private
dock. Care has been taken to preserve the ecology as each unit has its own septic tank and
a desalinator pumps out 10,000 gallons of fresh water a day. Side trips are available to

There are plenty of places to stay, most restaurants and private homes have extra rooms, I
