Tela Hotels

Hotel Villas Telamar is an old landmark hotel. It originally was built for housing United Fruit Company employees. The main units are actually houses, however, they have built a motel unit. It is a little pricey for the house units, running from $150 to $350 a night. The motel units are cheaper at about $50, apartment units $80 a night. They have a restaurant, two pools, tennis courts, golf, and horseback riding is available, Horses and bicycles rent for $2 hr. TV is optional and extra. It is located on the beach, drive into town, go left when you get to the main downtown street, continue until you get there.

Ejecutivos Aparta-Hotel, apartments located near the telephone offices (Hondutel) in the center of the city, phone 48-2049 or fax 48-2047. Cost about $30 a night.

There are a number of small economical hotels: Hotel Caribe, Hotel Atlantico, Hotel Tela, Hotel Puerto Rico, Hotel Mar Azul and Hotel Playa. These smaller hotels are for the budget minded, services and what you get is in proportion to what you pay. We're talking about $5 to $10/ night. Security may be a problem in some "economical" hotels.
